About Stella

About the author S.D. Amoako is excited to bring her energy, enthusiasm and expertise to Soups Junction, an online experience that focuses on flavorful soups from Ghana, West Africa. S.D., also known as Stella, is committed to sharing her love for authentic soups, providing the stories behind the history of the soup and the recipes so customers can create a delicious meal for themselves. Stella was born in Ghana and developed a passion for cooking thanks to her mother. The pair would often spend their morning’s grocery shopping together and then come home to prepare a savory pot of soup large enough to feed the whole family. Because of her childhood experiences, cooking always came naturally to Stella. While marrying and raising two children, she was inspired to share her love for authentic soups with the world. Stella brings a wealth of experience to the table. She spent 10 years successfully building a home-based business before writing her first cookbook, How to Make Delicious Homemade Peanut Butter Soup with Chicken and More in 2016. She quickly followed this up with several other cookbooks, leading her to found Soups Junction, where people can learn more about African soups and how to bring its unique ingredients together to create a home-cooked meal. For Stella, the best part of her work is helping others expand their palate. Through Soups Junction she is spreading her message while educating people about West African culture. Today, Stella lives in the United States and her next goal is to get restaurants to recognize how her soups can enhance their menus. She hopes they will use her recipes to show their diners how humble ingredients like peanut butter and mackerel can create hearty, tasty meals. When she isn’t building her soup empire, Stella enjoys reading the Bible and books about entrepreneurship.
